A passion project from Buona Forchetta founder, Matteo Cattaneo, Matteo for a Cause is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) restaurant located in South Park San Diego. What does that mean? 100% of profits (after operating costs) is donated to the selected charity organization.
Opened in late 2019, Matteo for a Cause has since donated over $25,000 to various local charities. Matteo’s causes change quarterly and typically focus on community-based education and early childhood development.
This fast-casual location offers an expansive menu of breakfast favorites like Eggs Benedict, various toasts, breakfast sandwiches, bowls and more. Guests can enjoy craft coffee and Italian pastries in cafe or to go! Matteo for a Cause is located on the corner of Juniper and 30th Street in South Park and offers both indoor and outdoor seating.

BUILDING SOMETHING BIGGER
Matteo for a Cause was created to give back to the San Diego community in a real, meaningful way. It was our opportunity to take what we love, our restaurants and feeding our community, and use that to make a change for the better.
From the beginning, the team behind the concept decided to have rotating quarterly non-profit beneficiaries. That means four deserving local charities are selected each year to receive ALL profits from that respective quarter. Additionally, the South Park restaurant regularly participates is special charitable campaigns and events each year.
